Kathmandu is a city which hit’s you squarely in the face the moment you step outside the airport. The heat, the bustle, the noise, the senses are put in to overdrive as you drive in to the city. Car’s, motorbikes, rickshaws and predestines all battle for the same section of road, all going in opposing directions. I’m here on the start of a three month trip in to the mountains, to live and work in a tiny Himalayan village called Machermo at 4,470 metres, 6 days walk from the nearest airport where there are no roads, horns or traffic.
