Insta of the Month – October 2016

Each month, I feature my best Instagram shot, as chosen by the likes and comments of my followers. 

Like last month, this months image was taken on my first trip to Nepal in 2014. I was watching the early morning sun, from the village of Merchermo at 4,465 meters, as it warmed the surrounding mountains. I spent almost three months living in this tiny village and would rise most mornings to watch the sun bring the World to life.

 

The early morning sun warms up the mountains in Nepal. ⠀ I was up earlier than normal, to catch the sunrise, and was sat shivering in my down jacket and endless layers in the shade as the first touch of light caught the mountain top on this peak. A spectacular sight as the sunlight races up the valley, warming everything it touches.
