Wednesday saw me driving down the coast to the beach town of Scarborough. A place known for its ice creams, trashy amusement arcades, beaches and surf… not so well know for County Cricket, but Cricket it indeed has! Every year Scarborough Cricket Club plays host to the Scarborough Cricket Festival, and Yorkshire move from Headingley in Leeds to the seaside town. This year it was for their LV= County Championship match against Sussex.
Nestled amongst the houses above Scarborough’s North Bay is a traditional English Cricket Ground, and it was packed… even if the game showed little signs of excitement, Sussex lost three wickets in quick succession to Yorkshires Ryan Sidebottom early on, after which it was chip chip chip for Sussex, with no further wickets before tea…
I spent much of the afternoon, looking for something a little different, so swopped the long glass for a wide and went for a walk…
Your thoughts are welcome...
