September saw me on an epic journey to Portugal to spend six days photographing sailing on the Algarve… You can’t knock that… Last time I went sailing for more than a few hours, it was from Falmouth in the UK to Lagos, Portugal via the notorious Bay of Biscay. It was mostly cold, violent, hard sailing with your nerves switched to the highest setting, the photography was by default an after thought as we struggled to maintain course in big, heavy Atlantic seas. This time, however was the polar opposite, soft, gentle winds wafted us along the Algarve Coast, away from the crowds of tourists crammed on to the golden beaches, I had time to think, to compose and relax.
